I plan to install Crown Moulding in my 1910 New England Colonial. I’d like to use similar materials as the rest of the house, however was surprised when I went to home depot and lowes and found that none of their crown moulding was made of wood?!?! It was either vinyl/pvc, or some other material that I couldn’t identify.
They had some trim and casings made of wood, but not Crown Moulding.
Can you no longer find Crown Moulding made of wood?
I have a DeWalt DW716 12" double bevel compound miter saw. Trying to decide between the DW723 and DWX723. The DWX is an inch shorter has quick releases for the stop extensions and supports 500 pounds vs 400 for the DW. The DW has screw knobs for the extensions. Just wondering if the older one may be a little better as in sturdiness. Lowes is not replacing the DW with the DWX but is instead carrying both and they’re the same price. So which would you guys go with? The saw itself is only about 40 lbs so I have no idea why you would need anywhere close to 400 let alone 500lbs of support. The DWX also has new mount attachments that won’t work with the DW. Opinions …..

Has anyone ever done it before? I’d like to install it in a room that isn’t too big. I’ve never done it before but it doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult. The only thing is, I don’t own a saw. Do you think home depot or Lowes cut the corner pieces for me?
Is there anyone out there that has bought a Bench Dog10-010 Crown-Cut Crown Molding Cutting Jig?
I just recently bought one from Lowes and it didn’t work out at all.
I was really disappointed in this product. I followed the directions just like on the diagram and it was a joke.
I seen this other crown molding jig on the internet called Cut-N-Crown and it looks like it would work a lot better. Is there anyone that has used the Cut-N-Crown system?
