Hey folks,
I plan to install Crown Moulding in my 1910 New England Colonial. I’d like to use similar materials as the rest of the house, however was surprised when I went to home depot and lowes and found that none of their crown moulding was made of wood?!?! It was either vinyl/pvc, or some other material that I couldn’t identify.
They had some trim and casings made of wood, but not Crown Moulding.
Can you no longer find Crown Moulding made of wood?
Thanks!

My husband and I just bought our first home. We are looking for an inexpensive way to add value/appeal to our home. We love crown molding but it’s just to expensive and considering we are doing it ourselves it’s also very hard.
We priced out Home depot and Loews and find that it will cost well in to the thousands to do our entire home. Althought we are very handy (we’ve painted the baseboards and door trim and it turned out amazing i might add) we are concerned we will get in over our heads.
So ,I’ve found this website http://foamcrownmolding.com/
I’ve placed an order to do ONLY ONE room in our home to ensure it doesn’t look cheap. I’d like some thoughts on this. I understand if we where going to sell the home soon we wouldn’t want to skimp on it on do it right. But we plan on being there for a very long time and who knows what our taste will be 20 years from now. I see spending the 2000 now on wood would be a waste of money cosidering we are not moving. Thoughts?

I have a 1940’s early modern house to restore, and I’m looking for someone who can respect the building style instead of propose "home depot Mc Mansion" features.

I’m looking to build a small pine chest to give my brother and sister-in-law to put in the nursery for their soon to be born son. I am in no way an expert and need advice, or plans, or anything that will help.
I own a compound mitre saw, jig saw, circ saw, dremel, and a few other tools. My main issue is with connecting all sides of the chest. I don’t have the right tools or know how to make dovetail joints or box joints. What could I do instead?
where do they sell kreg jigs? Other people have suggested it to me as well, but I dont see it listed on the home depot website.

Has anyone ever done it before? I’d like to install it in a room that isn’t too big. I’ve never done it before but it doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult. The only thing is, I don’t own a saw. Do you think home depot or Lowes cut the corner pieces for me?
